The purpose of the training and planning workshop is to build the capacity to prevent and respond to SGBV. The workshop builds individual understanding knowledge including skills. At the same time, it brings a sense of teamwork together with collaboration towards the intervention of SGBV problem.

  • Define Social Gender-based Violence
  • Identify forms of SGBV occurring in the prison set-up, causes and influencing factors
  • Describe the recommended standards for approach; prevention and response to SGBV.
  • Identify strengths, gaps, and needs in the prevention and response for SGBV pandemic.
What we provide

Workshop events are designed to help participants learn. Sufficient copies of the “Facilitators’

SGBV Training Manual by Faraja Foundation, 2020” or SGBV hand-outs should be in their

possession for use during training session. This can be availed to the participants in soft

copies through online platforms. The below documents can also be used if available during the

workshop facilitation.

  • Clinical Management of Survivors of Rape (SOR)/ Survivors of Violence (SOV)
  • SGBV Tools Manual for Prevention, Response and Monitoring/ Evaluation
  • Guidelines for the Prevention and Response of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence

Note: Participants should become familiar with the above four materials if availed to them

during the training session to help them grasp and retain adequate knowledge on SGBV.

Throughout the sessions, participants should be instructed to frequently use the manual and

hand-outs including the above four sources if accessible.
