Training of the trainers (TOT) is the process of preparing and training actual or near future trainers to develop or acquire new skills and competencies in various fields. It is a form of training that prepares a trainee for his/her future role as a future trainer. The training design normally originates from a training needs assessment (TNA). Some people are very knowledgeable in a particular area but lack the necessary skills to effectively teach others. In the TOT course, individuals are given the teaching skills they need to convey information to other adults in a replicable way.
